EXATON 79S neutral flux for 625-type alloy strip cladding Lowers strip costs and cladding time by up to one-third
To create a weld metal deposit with the same metallurgy as the filler metal, Exaton, an ESAB brand, has introduced Exaton 79S flux, a neutral, very high basic agglomerated flux for electroslag strip cladding. It was designed especially for use with Exaton Ni60 strip, a nickel-based strip used to produce a weld overlay with good corrosion resistance and high-temperature properties for petrochemical, oil and gas applications. “The formulation of Exaton 79S enables users to complete the cladding process in fewer passes, saving customers approximately one-third of the cost in strip and manpower compared to the other fluxes used with alloy 625-type strips,” says Paolo Torchiana, Global Product ...
ESAB has expanded its Exaton NiCrMo-4 filler metal product line with the introduction of Exaton Ni56 strip electrode for electro-slag cladding (ESW). This is nickel-chromium-molybdenum electrode is designed for corrosion resistant weld deposits of Ni6276/UNS N10276 type (“C-276”) and is ideal for chemical or petrochemical industries specifically to protect welded pipes made of low-alloy base materials. Exaton Ni56 is available as 60 x 0.5 mm strip. It is designed for use in combination with Exaton 69S flux, has a particularly high resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking of offers excellent slag removal and bead appearance.

Annapolis Junction, Md. – ESAB Welding and Cutting Products introduces its EM 210 MIG/Flux Cored welder and EMP 210 MIG/Stick/TIG welder. These inverter-based power sources are small in size but deliver professional-grade power and performance for most auto/truck repair and restoration, light fabrication and construction and HVAC work. These units feature state-of-the-art digital controls typically found on industrial machines and use power management technology that delivers positive arc starts and a smooth, steady welding arc. "EM 210 and EMP 210 welders have the power to weld up to 3/8-in. metal and the finesse for precision welds on thin sections," says Jay Misas, a product development ...
